About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage waste and wastewater environmental programs, including BWON, NSPS QQQ, HRVOC, NPDES, and RCRA regulations.
- Serve as a technical resource to ensure programs conform to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop and maintain environmental programs, procedures, and management systems, including conducting training sessions.
- Review refinery projects for regulatory compliance and establish necessary compliance schedules.
- Participate in cross-functional Area Teams to support day-to-day refinery operations and site performance goals.
- Lead field audits and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions as required.
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and provide required verbal and written reports.
- Provide on-call support for a 24/7 operating facility.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with five (5) years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry (refining, petrochemical, etc.), OR a Bachelor’s degree in a HES-related field, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Conceptual knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with waste and wastewater environmental compliance programs.
- Environmental experience specifically within the petrochemical industry.
- Experience utilizing compliance management systems.
