Waste and Wastewater Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage waste and wastewater environmental programs, including BWON, NSPS QQQ, HRVOC, NPDES, and RCRA regulations.
• Serve as a technical resource to ensure programs conform to regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Develop and maintain environmental programs, procedures, and management systems, including conducting training sessions.
• Review refinery projects for regulatory compliance and establish necessary compliance schedules.
• Participate in cross-functional Area Teams to support day-to-day refinery operations and site performance goals.
• Lead field audits and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions as required.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and provide required verbal and written reports.
• Provide on-call support for a 24/7 operating facility.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with five (5) years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry (refining, petrochemical, etc.), OR a Bachelor’s degree in a HES-related field, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Conceptual knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with waste and wastewater environmental compliance programs.
• Environmental experience specifically within the petrochemical industry.
• Experience utilizing compliance management systems.
