About the role

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze field warranty data for seating systems, including frames, tracks, recliners, foam, trim covers, and electrical components
  • Identify high-frequency, high-cost, and emerging quality issues related to the seating commodity
  • Develop and maintain warranty reports and dashboards to support management reviews and escalation meetings
  • Lead root cause analysis using OEM-standard methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, and FMEA alignment
  • Support OEM vehicle teardowns, field inspections, and failure analysis to determine true root causes
  • Coordinate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to define and implement corrective actions
  • Validate the effectiveness of countermeasures through data analysis, testing, or field observations
  • Support warranty cost recovery activities with suppliers and assist with field investigations and part returns

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-7 years of experience in automotive warranty, quality, design, or manufacturing engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with automotive seating or interior components
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience working with warranty databases and large data sets
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies including 8D, FMEA, and statistical analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10-20%) to supplier sites and manufacturing plants
