Warehouseperson I

Responsibilities

• Unload and load trucks, including uncrating or unpacking items upon delivery.
• Inspect items for shipping damages and verify paperwork against purchase orders.
• Mark materials with identification numbers and record exact storage locations in logbooks.
• Fill requisitions and work orders for materials, tools, or stock items.
• Distribute items to appropriate locations using manual handling or forklifts.
• Ensure all mill paper is routed to QC with the correct purchase order and job number.
• Maintain cleanliness of shelves, racks, warehouse areas, and the dock.
• Manage the organization, inventory, and upkeep of the steel yard.
• Coordinate with other departments regarding material arrivals and job requests.

Requirements

• Minimum of six months of prior warehouse experience in a similar industry.
• Basic understanding of general inventory storage technology and procedures.
• Ability to operate hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and other lifting/securing devices.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical and measurement computations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Capability to perform physical tasks including prolonged walking, climbing, bending, standing, and kneeling.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
