About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform shipping and receiving of goods, including loading and off-loading trucks using powered and manual material handling equipment.
- Operate various types of forklifts and reach trucks to move, store, and replenish goods according to the warehouse layout.
- Inspect incoming goods for quality, damage, and expiry dates to ensure proper rotation and stock integrity.
- Sort, categorize, and build skids of fresh, frozen, and dry food and non-food items for delivery.
- Use Warehouse Management Systems to record operations, conduct inventory reconciliation, and assist with cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent.
- Current Forklift Operator's Certificate.
- At least 6 months of experience in a warehouse or retail store environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to work in various environments, including freezers, refrigerators, and outdoor settings in winter.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict safety procedures and directions.
