About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate shipping and receiving operations for the Logistics and Materials department
- Oversee material handlers to ensure proper issuing of materials, stocking, and inventory record accuracy
- Coordinate and complete all export shipment documentation in compliance with agency rules and regulations
- Monitor government compliance communications and assist in developing company policies
- Maintain inventory accuracy regarding usage, on-hand quantities, location, and identification
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, including proper lifting, stacking, and packing techniques
- Conduct cycle counts and verify the identity of outgoing items against sales orders
- Communicate with Quality Control to ensure acceptability standards and inspections are met
Requirements
- 4-5 years of experience in a warehousing or shipping/receiving environment
- Proven experience in a Lead or Supervisory role
- Direct experience with major carrier online systems
- Computer literacy and ability to manage computerized inventory records
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with export/import regulations and documentation (NAFTA, DOC, DOS, AES)
- Proficiency with UPS World Ship or FEDX Ship Manager
- Experience with SyteLine ERP systems
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Current DOT Hazardous Shipper and IATA certifications
