Warehouse Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for EHS compliance, ensuring adherence to Canadian OHS regulations, including Ontario MLITSD and WorkSafeBC.
• Lead incident investigations and near-miss reviews using root cause analysis (RCA) to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and risk assessments for warehouse operations, equipment, and process changes.
• Deliver safety training programs covering forklift/MHE certification, WHMIS, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and emergency response.
• Perform regular safety inspections and compliance audits across warehouse locations to track and close audit findings.
• Maintain and analyze safety performance metrics such as TRIR and LTI rates to provide insights to leadership.
• Manage WSIB/WCB claims processes and support return-to-work coordination in collaboration with HR.

Requirements

• OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in EHS, warehouse safety, or industrial safety environments.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
• Familiarity with WHMIS and hazardous materials handling.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across Canada to support multiple warehouse sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with WSIB/WCB claims management and return-to-work programs.
• Specific experience with Ontario or British Columbia regulatory environments.
