Warehouse Assistant

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and put away inbound shipments within the distribution centre
• Read customer orders, work orders, and shipping orders to determine items for movement or distribution
• Move materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated locations
• Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or bins according to size, type, style, or product code
• Operate materials handling equipment (MHE) to transfer, put away, and pick products
• Assemble customer orders from stock and prepare them for packing or shipping
• Record amounts of materials received or distributed using appropriate computer programs
• Assist in physical inventory counting and ensure conformance to company standards
• Perform value-added services including labeling, recording serial numbers, and repacking
• Prepare parcels for shipping through accurate packing and labeling
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse work area

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
• Flexibility to work overtime and shifts as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using SAP
• Experience operating materials handling equipment (MHE)
