Ward Clerk

Responsibilities

• Answer, screen, and triage telephone calls
• Receive and assist visitors coming to see family or friends
• Schedule patients for tests, special procedures, and urgent or emergency appointments
• Follow established procedures to ensure efficient patient appointment flow
• Provide routine clerical support services to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
• Perform cross-functional duties and other tasks consistent with the job classification

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 or a recognized equivalent
• Minimum of one year of related clerical experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong accurate data entry skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle difficult situations
• Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using EPIC, PHS, or ORSOS
• Previous experience working within a healthcare environment
