Ward Clerk

Responsibilities

• Perform reception and clerical support for the Nephrology department
• Organize and maintain patient charts and electronic/paper filing systems
• Manage patient administration functions, including scheduling appointments and meetings
• Maintain unit calendars and schedules to ensure efficient operations
• Coordinate unit administrative functions within the scope of authority
• Produce high-quality work in accordance with hospital standards

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of recent related clerical experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and word processing
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
• Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized post-secondary secretarial arts program
• Previous experience working in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of Emergency Assistance Codes
