About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and organize assigned service stations, including supervising Assistant Waiters and Café attendants
- Provide high-quality food and beverage service in accordance with Viking’s STAR Service Standards
- Present menus, suggest wine pairings, and answer guest questions regarding food and beverage selections
- Relay orders to the Galley using MXP Ordering Software and ensure efficient service delivery
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness and hygiene standards in assigned areas following Public Health Policies
- Conduct stock takes, inventory control, and ensure mise-en-place is prepared prior to service
- Participate in shipboard safety, security, and emergency training as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Waiter or in a similar role within a premium hospitality environment
- Previous shipboard experience in a similar position is required
- Fluency in both Japanese and English is mandatory for communicating with guests and crew
- Minimum age of 21 years old
- Physically fit and able to stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods, as well as carry heavy items
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards (no visible tattoos)
