Waiter

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize assigned service stations, including supervising Assistant Waiters and Café attendants
• Provide high-quality food and beverage service in accordance with Viking’s STAR Service Standards
• Present menus, suggest wine pairings, and answer guest questions regarding food and beverage selections
• Relay orders to the Galley using MXP Ordering Software and ensure efficient service delivery
• Maintain immaculate cleanliness and hygiene standards in assigned areas following Public Health Policies
• Conduct stock takes, inventory control, and ensure mise-en-place is prepared prior to service
• Participate in shipboard safety, security, and emergency training as required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Waiter or in a similar role within a premium hospitality environment
• Previous shipboard experience in a similar position is required
• Fluency in both Japanese and English is mandatory for communicating with guests and crew
• Minimum age of 21 years old
• Physically fit and able to stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods, as well as carry heavy items
• Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards (no visible tattoos)
