W93 R&D Systems Build Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead complex assembly and disassembly operations for W93/Mk7 system-level test assets
• Apply mechanical, process, test, and manufacturing engineering expertise to solve hardware and assembly issues
• Act as the primary liaison for the Weapon Modernization Lab to ensure builds meet test schedules
• Collaborate with design, qualification, test, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure safety and performance standards
• Develop and maintain master build procedures and custom instrumentation
• Design and procure build tooling, coordinating with external partners like Pantex and Lockheed Martin
• Develop and escalate nonconformance reports to inform critical design decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SIGMA15 clearance, which may require random polygraphs
• Ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Engineering or a highly related field
• Experience working with Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) laboratories and plants (e.g., Pantex, KCNSC, LANL)
• Experience in nuclear weapons engineering design, testing, qualification, or production
• Experience developing tooling and build fixtures for complex products
• Experience working with classified information, hardware, and accountable/hazardous materials
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, PDMLink, and PRIME
