About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, design, and evolution of global Total Rewards philosophy, including compensation, executive compensation, equity, and benefits.
- Serve as the principal architect of rewards strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and financial objectives.
- Provide strategic leadership for complex equity and long-term incentive programs, including private-company equity and alternative structures like profits interests or carried interest.
- Oversee People Operations functions, including onboarding, offboarding, policy administration, and operational process excellence.
- Drive the People Analytics agenda to generate actionable insights for executive decision-making regarding workforce planning and retention.
- Advise portfolio company leaders on Total Rewards strategy tailored to their specific stage and maturity.
- Lead and develop a multi-functional team spanning Compensation, Benefits, People Operations, and People Analytics.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, with significant depth in compensation strategy.
- Deep expertise in compensation design, market benchmarking, and executive compensation.
- Extensive experience with private-company equity and alternative long-term incentive structures.
- Proven track record of leading or advising on broad benefits strategies and people operations.
- Experience leading multi-functional teams in complex, high-growth, or venture-backed environments.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and act as a trusted advisor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with boards, founders, and senior executive stakeholders.
- Prior experience in the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
- Experience navigating matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and business models.
