Responsibilities

• Overseeing and helping define the technical architecture at a strategic level
• Providing technical leadership and being hands-on when needed
• Line management, mentoring, and coaching engineers
• Running the hiring process for new engineers
• Reviewing code and using it as a teaching opportunity
• Working closely with product, marketing, and sales teams
• Owning engineering delivery performance, including throughput and quality
• Championing a strong engineering culture and values

Requirements

• 7+ years experience as a software engineer with native mobile or web technologies
• 3+ years experience in an engineering leadership role with line management
• Previous experience at a growing startup
• Track record of delivering high-quality products with business impact
• Experience building engaged and high-performing teams
• Experience interviewing engineers and assessing technical tasks
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• British citizenship or a pre-existing right to work in the UK
