About the role

Responsibilities

  • Shape overall sales strategy, including revenue growth, gross margin performance, and market development.
  • Lead, develop, and scale the sales and trading organization, including sales leaders, traders, and account owners.
  • Build a unified operating system across customers, suppliers, pricing, forecasting, and account strategy.
  • Partner with C-Suite and operations teams to align sales strategy with profitability goals and operational capabilities.
  • Drive profitable growth across wholesale, retail, foodservice, and distribution segments.
  • Strengthen senior-level relationships with major customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Provide executive leadership on high-value negotiations, pricing decisions, and complex commercial opportunities.
  • Establish KPIs, reporting rhythms, and accountability systems for the sales organization.
  • Monitor market dynamics, including pricing changes, supply-demand shifts, and food industry trends.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive sales, commercial, trading, or revenue leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of experience leading sales teams, traders, brokers, or other revenue-producing commercial teams.
  • Strong background in food sales, produce, protein, perishables, commodities, or wholesale distribution.
  • Proven success scaling high-performing sales organizations in fast-paced, margin-sensitive markets.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience leading major contract and pricing discussions.
  • Deep analytical skills with comfort using sales and market data to drive decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams that manage both customer and supplier relationships.
  • Experience with international markets, cross-border trade, or import/export environments.
  • Advanced degree or relevant executive education.

  • Base Pay: $225,000 - $300,000+, depending on qualifications and experience.
