VP of Quantum Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Drive software architecture, compiler, and runtime development strategy
• Direct the development, optimization, and scaling of the full-stack quantum software ecosystem, including compilers, runtime environments, and cloud APIs
• Own the software strategy for Hybrid Quantum-Classical Computing to ensure seamless integration between CPU/GPU clusters and QPUs
• Partner with VP of Quantum Architecture and Silicon/Cryo-CMOS teams for system co-design
• Implement support for scalable Quantum Error Correction (QEC) algorithms and logical qubit virtualization
• Develop simulation and modeling tools to evaluate fault-tolerant quantum computing systems

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Maths, Engineering, or Computer Science (focus on quantum error correction or information theory preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in commercial software engineering with significant leadership experience
• Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, fault-tolerant quantum computing, and error correction/decoding
• Experience with quantum algorithms and compiling in the regime of fault-tolerant gates
• Proficiency with LLVM or similar compilation frameworks
• Experience with quantum software tools such as Qiskit, Cirq, or TKET
• Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning algorithms
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering and scientific teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous leadership role at a quantum hardware/software startup or major tech quantum division
• Expertise in dynamic architectures and compiling circuits that rely on qubit shuttling
• Deep technical understanding of QEC decoding and software requirements for fault-tolerant computing
