VP of Finance

About the Company

Singularity Defense Corp. is a stealth-mode Aerospace & Defense startup headquartered in Gardena, CA. Our founding team hails from SpaceX, Anduril, and Lockheed Martin, and we are backed by Joint Staff-level military leadership and several Silicon Valley firms.

Responsibilities

• Own all finance functions end-to-end: FP&A, accounting, treasury, controls, tax, audit, and financial reporting
• Prepare the company for venture fundraise, support equity raises, and structure/close debt financing
• Own company-wide budgeting and tie operating plans to program and hiring decisions
• Act as the single accountable owner of burn, runway, and cash management
• Build financial infrastructure, systems, and processes to scale a capital-intensive hardware business
• Serve as a cross-functional partner to engineering, ops, and program leadership
• Support investor and board materials by producing metrics, models, and financial narratives
• Manage the cap table, equity administration, banking relationships, and debt facilities
• Recruit, hire, and lead a high-caliber finance team

Requirements

• Demonstrated ownership of a finance function with accountability for budgeting, burn, and runway
• Experience leading or playing a central role in institutional fundraises and diligence management
• Strong command of financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• At least two of the following: deep tech operating pedigree, startup fundraising experience, or core finance depth

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior VP of Finance or CFO experience at a venture-backed hardware or deep tech company
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or capital-intensive manufacturing
• Hands-on experience structuring venture debt, growth debt, or asset-backed facilities
• Familiarity with government contracting finance (DCAA, FAR/DFARS)
• MBA and/or CPA
