VP of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale an engineering organization of ~25 engineers, establishing processes and structures to grow the team to 75+ members.
• Act as the executive voice of engineering, translating technical strategy into business clarity for the board, investors, and the company.
• Define the technical vision and strategy for Posh's web, mobile, and AI infrastructure.
• Partner deeply with Product and Design leadership to shape the product roadmap and R&D function.
• Drive engineering excellence by establishing measurable signals for velocity, quality, and developer experience.
• Build an AI-native engineering organization by integrating agentic workflows and evolving the SDLC.
• Mentor and empower engineering leaders and individual contributors, defining clear career growth paths.

Requirements

• 12+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years of experience managing managers (engineers-of-engineers).
• Proven track record of scaling engineering organizations from 25 to 75+ engineers.
• Deep understanding of platform architecture and infrastructure with backend-leaning expertise.
• Extensive experience with consumer mobile and web architecture (React and React Native preferred).
• Demonstrated success in attracting, hiring, and retaining top-tier technical talent.
• Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadership and boards.
• Ability to work onsite at our SoHo, NYC office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at high-growth, consumer-obsessed companies (e.g., Airbnb, Uber, Stripe, Linear, or Notion).
• Experience managing through organizational change and inheriting existing teams.
• A strong, documented point of view on engineering culture and the impact of AI on software development.
