About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic communications advisor to the U.S. President, providing proactive recommendations on narrative, positioning, and risk management.
- Own executive communications for the U.S. President, including content strategy, messaging, and leadership visibility.
- Develop and implement U.S.-focused communications plans to drive business outcomes and highlight the value of Takeda's pipeline and portfolio.
- Lead integrated strategic marketing communications for key milestones, such as data readouts, regulatory approvals, and product launches.
- Build and lead a high-performing, diverse team of communications professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage crisis communication planning, preparedness, and execution for the U.S. region.
- Collaborate with Government Affairs and Corporate Communications to ensure alignment on policy, brand, and global messaging.
- Oversee the U.S. brand communications budget, resources, and agency relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- 15-20 years of experience in communications, reputation building, and branding.
- Proven experience leading large teams and managing integrated marketing communications.
- Deep understanding of the global biopharmaceutical landscape, including scientific, regulatory, and U.S. policy aspects.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to counsel senior executives.
- Strong media relations skills with established connections to U.S. national and industry trade media.
- Strong digital and social media acumen.

- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience within the biopharmaceutical industry.
