VP, Global Patient Safety Sciences, General Medicine

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for General Medicine safety strategy across clinical and post-marketing assets.
• Define medical safety opinions and provide scientific points-of-view for both GPS and non-GPS interactions.
• Oversee safety signal evaluations and provide clinical interpretation of emerging safety issues.
• Review benefit-risk assessments and provide recommendations for asset lifecycle stages, including health authority responses.
• Approve and provide medical oversight for Risk Management Plans (RMPs) and clinical health authority queries.
• Represent the organization at governance forums, including Safety Oversight Committees and Independent Data Monitoring Committees.
• Build, coach, and scale a high-performing team while driving succession planning and talent development.

Requirements

• 15+ years of pharmacovigilance (PV) or relevant clinical experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
• 8+ years of people leadership with demonstrated success leading teams.
• Proven experience overseeing strategy within a global patient safety organization.
• Deep understanding of product safety profiles to inform risk evaluations and decision-making.
• Strong leadership presence with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site at least 4 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree such as M.D., PA, or PharmD.
• Minimum of 5 years of international pharmaceutical activities.
• Board Certification in a relevant clinical specialty.
• Experience applying AI technologies to safety science.
• MBA is an advantage.
