About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead category strategy, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management for $1.5B in annual direct materials spend globally.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing global team of 45+ procurement professionals.
  • Drive digital transformation by integrating AI and advanced analytics for spend analysis, demand forecasting, and risk modeling.
  • Partner with senior leadership in Quality, Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing to ensure supply security and successful new product launches.
  • Deliver consistent year-over-year cost savings and optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Execute complex negotiations with a global supply base of over 500 suppliers to ensure stability and competitive advantage.
  • Implement proactive risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards (FDA, EMA, ICH).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in direct materials sourcing, contracting, and procurement.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proven expertise in using AI/ML tools and digital platforms within procurement or supply chain functions.
  • Expert-level negotiation skills and experience managing large-scale, complex global supplier relationships.
  • Strong ability to drive transformational change within a large, matrixed global organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ESG and sustainability initiatives within global supplier networks.
  • Demonstrated success in leading New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing strategies.
