About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead category strategy, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management for $1.5B in annual direct materials spend globally.
- Manage and develop a high-performing global team of 45+ procurement professionals.
- Drive digital transformation by integrating AI and advanced analytics for spend analysis, demand forecasting, and risk modeling.
- Partner with senior leadership in Quality, Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing to ensure supply security and successful new product launches.
- Deliver consistent year-over-year cost savings and optimize total cost of ownership.
- Execute complex negotiations with a global supply base of over 500 suppliers to ensure stability and competitive advantage.
- Implement proactive risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards (FDA, EMA, ICH).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 20+ years of progressive experience in direct materials sourcing, contracting, and procurement.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Proven expertise in using AI/ML tools and digital platforms within procurement or supply chain functions.
- Expert-level negotiation skills and experience managing large-scale, complex global supplier relationships.
- Strong ability to drive transformational change within a large, matrixed global organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ESG and sustainability initiatives within global supplier networks.
- Demonstrated success in leading New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing strategies.
