VP, Communications

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of WHOOP's global communications strategy, ensuring alignment with brand and business priorities.
• Manage all external communications efforts, including PR, executive communications, international media engagement, and crisis response.
• Serve as a trusted counselor to the CEO and top executives to shape executive visibility and thought leadership.
• Build and nurture media relationships to drive high-impact, earned media coverage across global news, health, tech, and sports publications.
• Oversee crisis communications planning and real-time response with clarity and control.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and People & Culture teams to ensure messaging consistency and drive internal alignment.
• Mentor and lead a high-performing communications team with strategic direction and empathy.

Requirements

• 10-15+ years of communications experience with a deep background in media relations, PR, and executive communications.
• Proven success managing communications for high-growth brands in sectors such as healthcare, AI, sports, or fitness.
• Extensive experience leading crisis communications with sound judgment and effective execution.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a strong editorial mindset.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to boost productivity and quality.
• Experience adapting messaging for diverse global audiences and geographies.
• High intensity and high humility, with a passion for the WHOOP mission.
