VP CI Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Commercial Insurance underwriting portfolio for the Walnut Creek branch, managing a $200M+ GWP book.
• Drive profitable growth and retention across key sectors including Technology, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, and Food.
• Own P&L performance, including premium, profitability, and expense management for the P&C portfolio.
• Develop and execute territory strategies across the Bay Area, Central Valley, and Sacramento to deepen broker and client relationships.
• Serve as a senior technical underwriting referral resource for complex risks and high-level accounts.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of underwriting staff, overseeing performance management and succession planning.
• Partner with Field Operations to design and execute marketing and distribution plans.

Requirements

• 10+ years of multi-line underwriting experience.
• Strong understanding of P&C lines of business, industry practices, and products.
• Proven experience with field distribution plants (brokers, regional, and independent agents).
• Strong people management and technical underwriting leadership skills.
• Advanced marketing and sales skills with a focus on building strategic relationships.
• Ability to drive execution and make effective operational decisions.

Benefits
