Voice Systems Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, integrate, and test electrical communication systems at Kennedy Space Center
• Oversee installation of analog and digital Voice Communications systems
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Microsoft 10/11 operating systems
• Perform system administration, patch management, and system hardening
• Use Java and Python for application support, automation, and systems integration
• Develop and maintain Windows batch scripts and Linux shell scripts
• Use Ansible for configuration management and deployment automation
• Support enterprise voice communications including VoIP, SIP, T1, RF, and telephony infrastructure
• Troubleshoot networking issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewalls
• Author and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and troubleshooting guides

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science plus 5 years of experience, OR a Master's degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology plus 3 years of experience
• Strong engineering, administration, and troubleshooting experience with Linux and Windows
• Proficiency in Java and Python
• Experience with Ansible and shell scripting
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, etc.)
• U.S. citizenship required to pass NASA background investigation
• Ability to pass drug testing
• Valid Florida Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting NASA infrastructure
• Experience administering COTS products
• Experience with DICES VoIP platform
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• CCNA or CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
