Viticulturist

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor all viticulture activities throughout the production season
• Manage all facets of vineyard production including soil preparation, planting, irrigation, nutrition, canopy management, pruning, crop protection, and harvesting
• Monitor vineyard health, growth development, and yield potential through regular field inspections and technical evaluations
• Develop and implement production programs to optimize quality, yield, and sustainability
• Analyze production data and make recommendations to continuously improve performance and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Collaborate closely with production teams, technical advisors, and the winery to ensure optimal grape quality
• Stay updated on new technologies and best practices within viticulture

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Viticulture, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field
• 5–10 years of experience in commercial vineyard production or viticulture
• Thorough knowledge of vineyard cultivation, soil management, irrigation, plant nutrition, crop protection, and harvest planning
• Experience with production planning, data analysis, and the application of modern viticulture techniques
• Good computer literacy and experience with relevant agricultural and management information systems
• Valid driver's license
