Visual Journalist & Storyteller

Responsibilities

• Serve as a dedicated visual journalist for ABC10 Originals, contributing to investigative, enterprise, and documentary-style projects
• Shoot and edit high-quality stories ranging from general assignment to hour-long specials
• Collaborate with reporters, producers, and editors to develop visual storytelling strategies from concept to completion
• Create compelling content for television, digital platforms, social media, and ABC10+ streaming
• Utilize advanced production techniques including drone photography, motion design, and creative lighting
• Perform advanced post-production work, including color grading, audio mixing, and visual effects
• Operate professional video equipment, including Sony FS-series and mirrorless camera systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional news, documentary, or long-form storytelling experience
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of Adobe After Effects
• Strong understanding of cinematography, visual sequencing, and pacing
• Experience with color grading, advanced lighting, and professional audio recording
• Familiarity with Sony camera systems and S-Log workflows
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 drone certification
• Experience using live transmission tools such as TVU or Dejero
