Visual Communications Manager

Responsibilities

• Execute creative services projects including digital ads, illustrations, video ad design, viewbooks, brochures, and billboards
• Collaborate with the Graphic Designer and Junior Graphic Designer to deliver branding and institutional storytelling initiatives
• Design digital assets for the university website, including page graphics, hero images, and icons
• Contribute to the writing, editing, and visual storytelling of marketing materials across print, digital, web, email, and social platforms
• Support public relations efforts by developing media-ready visual and written materials
• Partner with enrollment and various academic colleges to align creative work with strategic goals
• Maintain brand consistency and present design concepts to stakeholders and leadership
• Leverage AI tools to create systems that scale creative work

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field
• 4+ years of professional experience with a track record of meeting internal client expectations
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Experience designing for digital channels including web, email, and social media
• Strong communication, team-building, and project management skills
• Ability to work occasionally during evenings and weekends for campus events

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a higher education environment
• Experience leveraging AI tools for professional creative work
• Portfolio demonstrating digital-first design across web, social, and email
• Experience with Figma, prototyping tools, motion graphics, or light video editing
