About the role
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and provide detailed information regarding permanent collections, special exhibitions, educational programming, and hours of operation
- Issue admission tickets and process payments in accordance with the Gallery's admission program
- Scan tickets and direct patrons to exhibition locations, the Jackman Hall theatre, cloakrooms, or audio-guide rentals
- Manage school group bookings by checking daily schedules and coordinating group admissions
- Respond to visitor queries and provide guidance on ticketing requirements and pricing
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a museum or cultural institution
- Proven experience with ticketing systems and cash handling
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and databases
- Strong verbal communication and public relations skills
- Competent keyboarding skills
- Availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays (full weekend availability required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the AGO’s permanent collection and special exhibitions
- Ability to speak a second language
