Visitor Services Representative

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide detailed information regarding permanent collections, special exhibitions, educational programming, and hours of operation
• Issue admission tickets and process payments in accordance with the Gallery's admission program
• Scan tickets and direct patrons to exhibition locations, the Jackman Hall theatre, cloakrooms, or audio-guide rentals
• Manage school group bookings by checking daily schedules and coordinating group admissions
• Respond to visitor queries and provide guidance on ticketing requirements and pricing

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a museum or cultural institution
• Proven experience with ticketing systems and cash handling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and databases
• Strong verbal communication and public relations skills
• Competent keyboarding skills
• Availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays (full weekend availability required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the AGO’s permanent collection and special exhibitions
• Ability to speak a second language
