Visiting Researcher

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular cloning, cell culture, confocal imaging, and data analysis
• Design, perform, and analyze experiments focused on mammalian cell culture
• Isolate and expand cells from murine and human tissues
• Perform cell survival assays and transfection of mammalian cells
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation including centrifuges, electrophoresis, and confocal microscopes
• Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications
• Instruct and train undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory techniques
• Maintain clear and detailed records of procedures and experiments
• Communicate and present data to the Principal Investigator and lab members

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Medicine, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or relevant biological sciences
• Training in histology, rodent brain dissection, and stereotaxic surgeries
• Experience with fluorescent microscopy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in biology or biomedicine
• Prior experience with biomedical research (basic or clinical)
• Experience with animal behavioral techniques
• History of prior scientific publications
• Experience writing grants, fellowships, or scientific reports
