About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, perform, and analyze experiments focused on mammalian cell culture, including isolation and expansion from murine and human tissues
  • Conduct molecular cloning, cell culture, and confocal imaging experiments
  • Perform rodent brain dissections and stereotaxic surgeries for intracerebroventricular injections
  • Maintain laboratory instrumentation such as centrifuges, electrophoresis equipment, and confocal microscopes
  • Keep detailed records of procedures and experiments in accordance with laboratory guidelines
  • Assist in the instruction and training of undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory techniques
  • Prepare written and oral reports, and assist the Principal Investigator in preparing manuscripts and grant applications
  • Communicate and present data to the PI and other laboratory members in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedicine, neuroscience, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a relevant biological science
  • Training in histology and fluorescent microscopy
  • Experience with rodent brain dissection and stereotaxic surgeries
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in biology or biomedicine
  • Prior experience in basic or clinical biomedical research
  • Experience with animal behavioral techniques
  • A history of prior scientific publications
  • Experience writing grants, fellowships, manuscripts, or scientific reports
