Visiting Laboratory Instructor - Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Teach laboratory sections in introductory and organic chemistry
• Manage laboratory preparation, including generating handouts, assembling chemicals, and maintaining equipment
• Present pre-lab lectures and supervise laboratory sections
• Scaffold exploratory student mini-projects and supervise student assistants
• Provide guidance on data analysis and scientific writing
• Grade pre-lab assignments and laboratory reports
• Oversee the collection and disposal of all laboratory waste

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry
• 1-3 years of experience teaching labs using laboratory equipment and techniques
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to provide individual and group instruction with sensitivity to different learning styles
