Visiting Instructor of English

Responsibilities

• Teach courses (15 hours per semester), primarily University Writing and Writing in the Disciplines
• Maintain regular office hours to assist students and respond to correspondence in a timely manner
• Assess student performance and provide feedback
• Maintain a professional attitude with all students, faculty, and staff
• Engage in faculty development opportunities and attend program and School meetings

Requirements

• Master's degree in English, rhetoric/composition, professional or technical writing, literature, or creative writing
• A clear record of teaching excellence
• Ability to teach Writing in the Disciplines (EN281) and/or developmental writing

Preferred Qualifications

• MFA or Doctoral degree in English, rhetoric/composition, technical or professional writing, or creative writing
