Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor-Piano

Responsibilities

• Teach applied piano lessons to both graduate and undergraduate students
• Instruct piano skills and piano literature classes
• Maintain active professional expertise in piano performance and pedagogy
• Serve on various university, college, and school committees
• Participate in student recruitment, program development, and community outreach
• Perform other teaching duties within the candidate's area of expertise as assigned

Requirements

• Doctorate in piano (or ABD)
• Significant experience in studio teaching
• Significant performance experience as both a solo and collaborative pianist
• Ability to implement new pedagogies and 21st-century classroom strategies
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing and teaching across diverse musical genres and styles
• Developing national or international profile as an artist-scholar
• Demonstrated success in student recruitment
• Cross-cultural competencies to effectively engage with diverse student populations and community members
