Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor, Communications Design

Responsibilities

• Teach the equivalent of four 3-credit classes per semester
• Provide academic advising to students within the Communications Design program
• Participate in curriculum development and programmatic initiatives such as exhibitions, field trips, and lecture series
• Contribute to recruitment and admissions activities
• Engage in service to the program, school, college, and university

Requirements

• Graduate degree in communications design or a related discipline (e.g., graphic design)
• Professional or academic experience in the field
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and modern studio processes
• Strong conceptual and design-based principles applied to traditional and evolving media
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work within a NASAD-accredited curriculum

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration across the university
• Experience working with diverse groups of students and community members
• Ability to advocate for design across various academic disciplines
