Responsibilities

  • Teach a 4/4 course load, including four courses each semester
  • Instruct students in wheel throwing, hand-building, ceramic sculpture, and other curriculum needs
  • Support student development in material knowledge, technical skill, and visual thinking
  • Attend monthly area and School of Art faculty meetings
  • Maintain a rigorous studio practice and foster a student-centered learning environment

Requirements

  • Earned MFA in Ceramics or a related field
  • Minimum of three years of full-time, college-level teaching experience
  • Active exhibition record demonstrating ongoing professional engagement
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and manipulate quantities of clay for teaching demonstrations
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with contemporary developments such as digital tools, clay printing, or fabrication technologies
  • Experience developing inclusive curricula that serve diverse student backgrounds
