About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach a 4/4 course load, including four courses each semester
- Instruct students in wheel throwing, hand-building, ceramic sculpture, and other curriculum needs
- Support student development in material knowledge, technical skill, and visual thinking
- Attend monthly area and School of Art faculty meetings
- Maintain a rigorous studio practice and foster a student-centered learning environment
Requirements
- Earned MFA in Ceramics or a related field
- Minimum of three years of full-time, college-level teaching experience
- Active exhibition record demonstrating ongoing professional engagement
- Ability to lift 50lbs and manipulate quantities of clay for teaching demonstrations
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse student populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with contemporary developments such as digital tools, clay printing, or fabrication technologies
- Experience developing inclusive curricula that serve diverse student backgrounds
