Responsibilities

  • Teach a 4/4 course load, including introductory and intermediate wheel throwing, hand-building, and ceramic sculpture
  • Support students in developing material knowledge, technical skill, visual thinking, and rigorous studio practice
  • Attend monthly area and School of Art faculty meetings
  • Contribute to a student-centered learning environment within a serious fine arts context

Requirements

  • Earned MFA in Ceramics or a related field
  • Minimum of three years of full-time college-level teaching experience
  • Active exhibition record demonstrating ongoing professional engagement
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and manipulate sufficient quantities of clay for teaching demonstrations
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with contemporary developments in the field, including digital tools, clay printing, and fabrication technologies
  • Experience developing inclusive curriculum and programs that facilitate community growth
