Responsibilities
- Teach a 4/4 course load, including introductory and intermediate wheel throwing, hand-building, and ceramic sculpture
- Support students in developing material knowledge, technical skill, visual thinking, and rigorous studio practice
- Attend monthly area and School of Art faculty meetings
- Contribute to a student-centered learning environment within a serious fine arts context
Requirements
- Earned MFA in Ceramics or a related field
- Minimum of three years of full-time college-level teaching experience
- Active exhibition record demonstrating ongoing professional engagement
- Ability to lift 50lbs and manipulate sufficient quantities of clay for teaching demonstrations
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse student populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with contemporary developments in the field, including digital tools, clay printing, and fabrication technologies
- Experience developing inclusive curriculum and programs that facilitate community growth
