Visiting Assistant Professor of Music

Responsibilities

• Teach applied piano lessons and class piano courses
• Serve as collaborative pianist for choral ensembles, voice students, and departmental performances
• Provide piano support for institutional events such as Opening Convocation and worship services
• Recruit and mentor piano students, including both music majors and non-majors
• Teach academic music courses as needed, such as Music Theory or Music History

Requirements

• Terminal degree in Music (DMA or PhD) preferred; Master's degree considered
• Expertise in applied piano instruction
• Proven experience in collaborative piano and accompanying
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience accompanying musical theatre productions
• Experience teaching or supporting music technology-related coursework (recording, notation, or production)
• Demonstrated record of successful student recruitment and studio development
