Visiting Assistant Professor of English

Responsibilities

• Teach first-year composition and a full range of literature courses
• Develop and teach courses in areas of specialization, specifically British and postcolonial literatures
• Facilitate student learning and mentor undergraduate research
• Participate in departmental service, college activities, and student recruitment
• Utilize effective teaching methods and strategies to foster excellence within the department
• Promote collegiality and collaborative relationships with faculty and staff

Requirements

• MA in English required; PhD preferred
• Evidence of successful teaching experience
• Technological savvy and proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Strong organizational, management, and communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks under tight deadlines
