Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry and/or Biochemistry

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses for Biochemistry majors and support classes for Biology and Nursing programs
• Deliver a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours per semester
• Teach a one-year sequence of either General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry, including associated laboratory components
• Incorporate the College’s Catholic Benedictine mission into teaching, service, and scholarship
• Articulate scientific insights within the context of the liberal arts educational tradition

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Chemistry or an associated field
• Ability to teach General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry with labs
• Commitment to the Catholic Benedictine mission and the education of the whole person

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (Applications from ABD candidates will be accepted)
• Experience teaching within a liberal arts framework
• Ability to integrate scientific study with the Catholic understanding of the human person
