Visiting Assistant Professor

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach courses to support the International Comparative Labor Studies (ICLS) minor and the College’s General Education curriculum
• Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations to inform students of their progress
• Maintain appropriate office hours and provide timely communication to students via the college network
• Utilize instructional technology including Blackboard, Banner, and Starfish
• Maintain an appropriate level of scholarly work and service consistent with Visiting Professor status

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Africana Studies, History, Political Science, Sociology, or a related field
• At least 2 years of teaching experience
• Evidence of productive scholarship, including research accepted for publication or by professional associations
• Experience teaching within an online learning management system
• Proficiency in computer literacy and instructional technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree with an emphasis on labor, workers, and/or employee ownership
• Ph.D. in labor studies, economics, or social sciences with a focus on cooperatives or employee ownership
• Ability to design new curriculum specifically for the ICLS minor
