About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach standards-based lessons within the teacher education program
  • Provide short and long-range course planning in key curricular areas
  • Create and provide evidence-based instruction to assist students in acquiring learning outcomes
  • Assist in mentoring and preparing students for teacher licensure examinations
  • Supervise and mentor students within their clinical settings
  • Collaborate with and train mentor teachers to support student clinical experiences
  • Support program coordination and development of the MAT program
  • Coordinate assessment reports and other important data reports in a timely manner

Requirements

  • PhD or EdD in Education from an accredited institution
  • Current North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina
  • Minimum of three years of experience teaching in public or private K-12 schools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in public or private K-12 schools
  • Experience teaching at the college or university level
  • Experience with online course creation and teaching
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices
  • Experience with D2L Learning Management System
