Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor of Music

Responsibilities

• Teach core music history courses for music majors, including Intro to Music Literature, Music History 900-1800, and Music History Since 1800
• Develop and teach elective courses within your area of expertise
• Maintain a teaching load of 6 courses per year (3-3)
• Foster inclusive classroom experiences and engage in pedagogical creativity and curricular innovation

Requirements

• D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Music with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline (ABD candidates with demonstrated experience will be considered)
• Demonstrated teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching interests that explore vernacular music and/or non-western traditions
• Expertise that intersects with other areas within the fine arts, liberal arts, or sciences
