D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Music, 18 graduate credit hours in discipline, Demonstrated teaching experience
About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach core music history courses for music majors, including Intro to Music Literature, Music History 900-1800, and Music History Since 1800
- Develop and teach elective courses within your area of expertise
- Maintain a teaching load of 6 courses per year (3-3)
- Foster inclusive classroom experiences and engage in pedagogical creativity and curricular innovation
Requirements
- D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Music with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline (ABD candidates with demonstrated experience will be considered)
- Demonstrated teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching interests that explore vernacular music and/or non-western traditions
- Expertise that intersects with other areas within the fine arts, liberal arts, or sciences
