About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach theoretical knowledge and supervise student clinical experiences for Elementary Education, Transition to Teaching, and Literacy Specialists Master’s programs
- Plan and oversee practical classroom experiences for candidates in various settings, including on-campus, clinical, and online environments
- Engage in an active scholarly research agenda, including publications and professional presentations
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and K-12 school and community partners to support student learning and program innovation
- Oversee candidates and teachers within practicum settings
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience teaching literacy in K-6 schools, preferably in urban settings
- Valid Elementary Teaching License
- Demonstrated training in the Science of Reading
- International Dyslexia Association KPEERI Credential
- Proven ability to teach linguistically and culturally diverse students
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Literacy Education
- Indiana Early Literacy License
- Experience teaching in hybrid and online environments at the university level
- Experience with children with reading difficulties or disabilities
- Experience with university-level teaching, research, and service
