About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach 28 credit hours over the academic year, including 300-level Genetics, 200-level Cell and Molecular Biology (with labs), and 300-level Molecular Biology (with labs).
  • Lead the development and instruction of the laboratory component for the 300-level Molecular Biology course.
  • Teach one lab section of an intermediate 200-level Microbiology course.
  • Support both Biology and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology majors.
  • Cultivate a welcoming community and foster an environment where all students feel a sense of belonging.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field (ABD status will be considered).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Genetics and Molecular Biology courses.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness in the specific courses listed in the position overview.
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate student success.
  • Prior experience serving as an instructor of record.
