About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach a wide range of undergraduate music therapy courses within the bachelor's degree program
  • Provide effective clinical supervision across various clinical practice domains
  • Fulfill all required responsibilities outlined by American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and NASM standards
  • Assess student learning and collaborate with faculty colleagues on course development
  • Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts
  • Contribute to service across the university campus

Requirements

  • Master's degree in music therapy (or appropriate terminal degree completed by August 1, 2026)
  • Three years of full-time clinical experience (or equivalent) as a board-certified music therapist
  • Board certification in music therapy (MT-BC)
  • Ohio music therapy licensure (LPMT) by the position start date
  • Experience as a supervisor, trainer, or mentor of music therapists and/or students
  • Demonstrated excellence in musicianship skills in guitar, voice, and piano/keyboard

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in music therapy or a related field
  • Evidence of successful, student-centered teaching of undergraduate music therapy courses
  • Experience in clinical supervision of music therapy students
  • A record of academic or professional service within the field of music therapy
