Vision Science - Vision Modelling Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver ophthalmic designs and ancillary documents using state-of-the-art optical and mechanical design systems
• Advance innovative designs from ideation and R&D through to product launch
• Develop and validate clinical and predictive vision models for design exploration and optimization using MATLAB
• Deliver data analyses, image processing, and simulation-based summaries of clinical and bench lens data
• Partner with multi-functional teams to define requirements and technical roadmaps for AI/ML design workflows
• Provide vision science and optics subject matter expertise to support development projects and intellectual property creation
• Collaborate with Project Leads, clinicians, and 3rd party suppliers to define design specifications and tolerances

Requirements

• Degree in Optical, Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, Vision Science, or Physics
• 5 years of relevant experience in a related field
• Advanced proficiency in MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and data visualization
• Experience with optical design systems
• Experience with AI/ML applications for optics

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of developing innovations in vision science or visual optics
• Experience building AI/ML applications specifically for Vision Science or Optics use cases
• Proficiency in other programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
• Experience with optical system simulation, GUI development, and hardware integration
• Experience with optical design software, specifically ZEMAX
