Virtualization Engineer

Responsibilities

• Administering virtual computing environments such as VMware vSphere
• Administering monitoring solutions for virtual environments
• Managing patch management, backups, and restores
• Administering and monitoring hardware servers, fibre optic fabrics, and data storage
• Troubleshooting virtual environments and performing capacity planning
• Recommending and implementing security standards and best practices
• Updating technical documentation and operating procedures
• Implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures
• Providing 2nd line support and coordinating with 3rd line support

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in IT
• Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience with large virtual environments like VMware vSphere or Nutanix
• Experience with monitoring tools such as VMware Aria Operations
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
• Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL processes
• Fluency in English (minimum B2 level)

Preferred Qualifications

• Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI)
• Experience with VMware vSAN
• Experience with HPE SAN Storage arrays (e.g., HPE Primera)
• VMware VCP-DCV 6.X or higher certification
