Virtual Math Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach enthusiastic elementary, middle, and high school students in live, participation-oriented online classrooms.
• Use the AoPS curriculum to focus on skill development and critical thinking rather than rote memorization.
• Facilitate student-led instruction and discussions, allowing students to do the "heavy lifting" in problem-solving.
• Manage small class environments (average size 12) consisting of high-achieving, motivated learners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required.
• Solid academic background in mathematics.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students at the K-12 level.
• Proficiency with Zoom or similar video conferencing software and comfort managing a virtual classroom.
• Availability for Wednesday/Friday evenings (7 pm ET) and Sunday afternoons (12:45 pm ET).
• Must be located in and authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a STEM field.
• Experience working specifically with advanced or gifted students.
