Video Surveillance System Field Technician

Responsibilities

• Install and program low voltage electrical devices, alarm panels, CCTV, and networking equipment
• Survey and prepare indoor and outdoor sites for security system testing
• Maintain, repair, and install access control and IP/analog CCTV systems
• Manage equipment inventory including cameras, switches, and servers
• Perform on-site troubleshooting and correct trouble signals in alarm panels
• Read wiring diagrams and system blueprints for safe installation
• Run and install wire per manufacturer specifications and code
• Monitor, test, and service wireless devices and sensors
• Coordinate services with vendors and track work orders
• Respond to on-call emergency requests and after-hours trouble calls

Requirements

• 2 years of applicable work experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Understanding of networks, software applications, and programming
• Ability to lift a minimum of 95 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of at least 12 feet
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Ability to work in small crawl spaces and reach above one's head

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience programming Genetec, Exacq, Pro-Watch, Keyscan, DMP, Bosch, Fire-Lite, or Sony systems
• Experience with fiber optic splicing and structured cabling
• Knowledge of VLANs, switches, and Power over Ethernet (PoE)
