Video Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Research and develop critical video codec and computer vision hardware for Mobile, Automotive, XR, IoT, and Compute spaces
• Design, develop, implement, and verify complex video systems and hardware/firmware tasks, including Video Encoder, Video Decoder, and Computer Vision features
• Perform complex architecture studies, algorithm decomposition, and feature analysis to drive hardware development requirements
• Ensure advanced KPIs, system performance, and area/power metrics are met
• Drive the triage of complex technical problems to determine root causes and implement solutions
• Facilitate collaboration across design, test, and customer teams to analyze product requirements for new or modified architectures
• Lead the design and integration of video systems and develop complex features in line with product roadmaps
• Write detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in Software, Hardware, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience with a Master's/PhD)
• Proven experience in hardware system design
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• 6+ years of applicable video hardware and/or systems experience
• Experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software
• Experience with embedded systems
• Experience working in a large matrixed organization
• Experience interacting with senior leadership and holding technical leadership roles
