About the role

Responsibilities

  • Direct engagement with men of color victims, witnesses, and their families
  • Explain the criminal justice system and provide case information
  • Conduct high volume of follow-up calls to ensure survivors receive support
  • Assist with emergency safety planning and orders of protection
  • Act as a liaison between victims and Assistant District Attorneys
  • Provide support and accompaniment during Criminal Justice proceedings
  • Develop best practices for engaging men of color
  • Participate in community presentations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and working with men of color
  • Ability to handle emergency situations and maintain composure
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with the criminal justice system
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or victim advocacy
  • 3-5 years of experience in social work or counseling
  • Proficiency in Spanish or American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Knowledge of post-traumatic crisis intervention and recordkeeping
