About the role
Responsibilities
- Direct engagement with men of color victims, witnesses, and their families
- Explain the criminal justice system and provide case information
- Conduct high volume of follow-up calls to ensure survivors receive support
- Assist with emergency safety planning and orders of protection
- Act as a liaison between victims and Assistant District Attorneys
- Provide support and accompaniment during Criminal Justice proceedings
- Develop best practices for engaging men of color
- Participate in community presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
- Demonstrated experience supporting and working with men of color
- Ability to handle emergency situations and maintain composure
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with the criminal justice system
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or victim advocacy
- 3-5 years of experience in social work or counseling
- Proficiency in Spanish or American Sign Language (ASL)
- Knowledge of post-traumatic crisis intervention and recordkeeping
